Rays of Light
with Yaqin Aubert and Naima Brown
Tuesdays, Oct. 14th, 21st, 28th, Nov. 4th, 11th, 18th, 2025
11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. ET (New York)

That ray of light can be seen as a symbol of the soul, each of our unique rays and the One Universal soul. We are each on a journey of the soul. Hazrat Inayat Khan speaks about 3 rays of light which relate to qualities of the master, saint and prophetess/prophet. We will explore these qualities and which resonate with each of us. In addition we will explore some Sophic whorl planetary teachings, expanding our hearts and minds to more fully perceive and understand ourselves and others. Practices include the stages of concentration, contemplation and meditation using Breath, Light, Divine Names, and Zikr.
Please join us for this next practice oriented series.

Ongoing Gatha Classes
with Rahmana Santorelli
The 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month
at 7:00 PM Eastern Time (North America)
The Gathas were originally oral lectures that Hazrat Inayat Khan gave to his murids in the early 1920s. They contain foundational teachings that cover several topics. These lectures offer us the opportunity to consider, and live life, with an open mind and a compassionate heart. Meeting with others as a community, allows us to gain insight into Murshid’s wisdom and sense his presence. We will partake in meditative practices of the Inayatiyya as a way of making Murshid's profound teachings relevant to us on our journey. There will be an opportunity to share heart-felt reflections in the form of sohbet.

Rahmana serves as a healing conductor, guide, representative, and center leader in the Inayatiyya of the Pioneer Valley in western Massachusetts. She is a long-time murid, a graduate of Suluk Naubahar, and an ongoing student of life. She finds sharing the Gathas with others makes them more meaningful than simply reading them on one’s own.

The Githas
with Aqil Brown
Tuesdays: Sep. 9th and 23rd, Oct. 7th and 21st, Nov. 4th and 18th, Dec. 2nd and 16th, 2025
The Githa papers are a course of study given by Hazrat Inayat Khan for the murid who is ready to prepare for the realization of the soul. The murid, having awakened, now journeys into that vision of a new world of spirit. The task before the murid is to develop an intuitive and natural awareness of the expansive levels on which the soul experiences life. The mind and emotions are attuned to allow the finer vibrations to be felt. The cause and effect of impressions and intentions are watched. The inner and outer life are brought into harmony. One's motivation is sought out at its roots. One's purpose is found in the re-homing of the soul in this life and in preparing it for the next.

We will contemplate the words of the Githa papers in this course, supported with practices that:
- seek to nourish the soul with the waters of life, of Spirit
- give the soul repose by accepting the enfolding embrace of the One Being
- stimulate the desire of the soul to witness and illuminate beauty, exercise nobility, excellence and mercy, and glorify the harmony of heaven and its echoes on earth
- allow the pure happiness of the soul in remembering its intimacy with the One
If time allows there may be sohbet (attuned sharing and listening).
This course is open to murids of the Inner School of the Inayatiyya who have been given the 4th or later initiations, or have the recommendation of their guide. A few years of experience with practices given by the Inner School is assumed.
Contact Aqil Brown|aqil for the zoom link.
Aqil Brown is a Representative in the Inayatiyya Inner School and one of the Inayatiyya of Greater Boston center leaders for the last few decades. Other activities of the Inayatiyya he has taken part in are Inner School Retreat Guide, Inner School leaders training advisor and mentor, Suluk Gulzar class, Ziraat Farmer and Cherag. Attending together in the moment, and the inspiration and magic that comes from that, is one of his favorite things.

The Inayatiyya - A Sufi Path of Spiritual Liberty
The work of the Inayatiyya is founded upon the teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan and his successors Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan and Pir Zia Inayat-Khan. Hazrat Inayat Khan brought the spiritual heritage of Sufism from India to the Western nations of Europe and the Americas, adapting it to the conditions of those cultures. His successors have continued to adapt the presentation of Sufism to ever-changing modern conditions, while strongly holding the connection to the living essence that they represent. It is not just a philosophy, but a practice of working with the self to realize all the dimensions of one's being, come to a fuller understanding and joy, and to communicate that in everyday life.
"Thus the ultimate purpose for which the soul is seeking every moment of our life, is our spiritual purpose. And you may ask how to attain to that purpose. The answer is that what you are seeking for is within yourself. Instead of looking outside, you must look within. The way to proceed to accomplish this is for some moments to suspend all your senses such as sight, hearing, smell, touch, in order to put a screen before the outside life; and by concentration and by developing that meditative quality you will sooner or later get in touch with the inner self which is more communicative, which speaks more loudly than all the noises of this world; and this gives joy, creates peace, and produces in you a self-sufficient spirit, a spirit of independence, of true liberty."
-- Hazrat Inayat Khan
